Wanda Nell Schanda

Wanda Nell Schanda, age 90 of Fredericktown, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Stockhoff Memorial Nursing Center in Fredericktown. She was born on March 5, 1934, in East Prairie, Missouri to Lawrence Otto Sr. and Rhoda Irene (Alley) Foy.

On September 21, 1951, in Pocahontas, Arkansas she was united in marriage to Roy Antone Schanda, he preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son & daughter-in-law – Mark & Debbie Schanda of Fredericktown; two sisters – Jenny Boswell and Linda Dalton; one brother – Lawrence Otto Foy Jr.; two step grandchildren – Donna Foy (Mitch) and Tom Foy (Sami Jo); two step great grandchildren – Remedy and Lorelei and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by five sisters – Mary Mayes, Eartha Parsons, Kathryn Schall, Patricia Whapham and Dorothy Clark.

Wanda was a homemaker; she was a talented woman who enjoyed making all kinds of crafts; she loved cake decorating, making quilts, ceramics, and knitting, but her passion was crocheting; she also did gardening and canning.

A private interment will be held at a later date.
