Wayne Sherrill

Leroy Wayne Sherrill, 86, of Farmington, passed away November 13, 2024 at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born April 8, 1938 in Herculaneum, to the late Roy and Lela (Ruble) Sherrill. Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church of Farmington. Wayne retired from Flat River Glass where he worked as a machinist. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed traveling. His favorite past time and hobby was photography. He was fortunate enough to photograph scenery from all over the world. 

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Janice Mayberry, Patricia Hinkle, Wilma Hanson; four brothers, Robert E. Sherrill, J. Dale Sherrill, Michael Sherrill and Ronald Sherrill.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Vivian (Johnson) Sherrill; daughter, Teresa Heifner and husband Bob; son, Bobby Sherrill and wife Wynnette; seven grandchildren, Weston, Clayton, Leah, Bella, Ben, Katie and William; one great-granddaughter, Maycee “Bean”. Many nieces, nephews, family and friends also survive. 

A visitation will be held at Memorial United Methodist Church in Farmington, Saturday, December 7, 2024 from Noon until the time of a memorial service at 3:00 PM with Rev. Shannon Davis officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Camp Hope at camphopeusa.org
