Mr. William Joseph "Bill" Thompson passed away at his Farmington residence on May 17, 2007, at the age of 72 years, 3 months & 16 days. William was born Jan. 31, 1935, in Delassus & was the son of Joseph & Verna Juanita 'White' Thompson. Also preceding-in-death were: 1 Sister, Opal Upchurch; 1 Brother, Steven Thompson & 1 Sister-In-Law: Ila 'Hill' Thompson.
Bill was: * a US ARMY Veteran of The Korean War; * a member of ELKS Lodge #1765; * a member of Norman L. Rigdon VFW Post #5896 & * a member of LePere-McCallister American Legion Post #416 & a member of Amvets Post #113, all of Farmington.
Survivors Include: 1 Daughter, Kathy Hays, of Park Hills. 1 Sister, Sandra Thompson, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; 2 Brothers: Michael (& Susan) Thompson, of Chicago, Illinois; Robert (& Kelly) Thompson, of Farmington. 1 Grandson: Greg Gray. Several Nieces & Nephews: Scott (& Sarah) Thompson; Dustin (& Sara) Thompson; Bree (Mrs. Jeff) Bullock; Cassie (Mrs. Dustin) Littrell; Brock Thompson & Shelly Thompson. Also, several Great-Nieces & Great-Nephews.
Visitation Sunday, 3-9 p.m. A joint VFW/American Legion Service will be held Sunday evening @ 7 pm; a ELKS Service will be held Sunday @ 7:30 p.m., (both services will be held in the Taylor Chapel).
Visitation resumes Monday, 7:00 a.m.
Funeral: Monday, 2:00 p.m., May 21, 2007,
at : TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Rev. Rick Hensley officiating.
Interment will full military honors will follow at : Knights-of-Pythias Cemetery in Farmington.
Memorials to: * The American Heart Association &/or * The American Kidney Foundation.
