Karen Lynn Smith, 70, of Desloge passed away December 9, 2021 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born August 8, 1951 to the late Norman Lee and Sylvia Ann (Lehrter) Bean. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Bean.
Karen enjoyed the art of crafting; she was a past co-owner of a bridal store where she also sold her craft work out of. Karen loved to spend time with her family, joining them in family activities and events.
Karen is survived by her husband, Bob Smith; children, Eric Mecey and fiancé Julia Pettus, Roger Smith, and Misty Appleby and husband Andy; Grandchildren, Carter Mecey, Molly, Ryan, Mitt, Katie, Christian Smith and wife Kelsie, Luke Smith and wife Megan, Kelsie Essex and husband Zack, Jake, Kenzie Davie and husband Chris, Jared Pettus and wife Dee, and Jayden; six great-grandchildren; sister, Jackie Behr; two brother in laws, Tom Smith, and Rev. John Smith and wife Sherry; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Per Karen’s wishes no formal services are being planned. Her cremains will be inurned at Woodlawn Cemetery in Desoto at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home.
